ThirstyArchitects is passionate about contributing to the development of rural architecture in Africa through research, proposals, and construction of much-needed infrastructure, including but not limited to educational, recreational, and commercial designs. The aim is to improve the standard of living while respecting local culture and helping open up the areas for other forms of economic development.

‘‘We come closer to inspiring a future of possibilities, one design at a time ’’

Nii Ala Russell Adjei, Architect and Founder of ThirstyArchitects.

Our community designs are genuinely part of their communities by emphasizing locally sourced materials, using design concepts influenced by local traditions, and incorporating sustainable techniques. During every phase of our community projects, collaboration with locals ensures that the functional spaces meet the actual users' specific needs. Local building techniques are also considered to allow for relatively easy construction and maintenance. We collaborate with a variety of donors who include people originally from the rural areas being supported, local organizations, and overseas donors who share our passion for improving life one design at a time.

Collaborate with us on a community project through the NARA Foundation

The Nara Foundation was named after our Founders' son to celebrate and remind everyone that every day is a gift meant to bring joy into this world. At ThirstyArchitects, we believe in giving back to the community and bringing together like-minded people who want to do what they can to contribute. For projects taken on by the Nara Foundation, ThirstyArchitects is willing to donate its time and designs. Please contact us if you have an idea for a community project or want to participate in a NARA Foundation project.
